Traditional Jazz Society of Oregon

Resolve to begin the new year by dancing off a few holiday cookies with Black Swan Classic Jazz Band, sponsored by the Traditional Jazz Society of Oregon and holding forth at the Springfield ELKs at 1701 Centennial Boulevard in Spingfield, Oregon. We're on at 12:45, 2:00 and 3:45 with jam musicians to begin at noon and perform in between. Black Swan will include Marilyn Keller, vocals; Rick Holzgrafe, cornet; Ron Leach, drums; John Bennett, piano; Steve Matthes, clarinet; TBD, trombone; Alan Phillips, banjo; and Kit Johnson, tuba.

Shriner's Fundraiser

Jack & Earline Dawes and many friends are bringing back another vintage jazz celebration to help raise funds for the Al Kader Shriners and the worthy work they do providing care for children and families in need. You'll hear many fine ensembles in a concert that goes like the wind. Black Swan is happy to contribute to the cause and will include Marilyn Keller, vocals; Rick Holzgrafe, cornet; Ron Leach, drums; John Bennett, piano; Steve Matthes, clarinet; TBD, trombone; Alan Phillips, banjo; and Kit Johnson, tuba.

Episcopal Church of the Good Samaritan

Black Swan is thrilled to return for another year as a featured artist at the Sundays afternoon concert series and to celebrate music in worship earlier in the day. This is always an uplifting experience for the musicians and the audience/congregation. Join us.  Musicians are expected to include Portland's Marilyn Keller on vocals, Rick Holzgrafe on cornet, John Bennett on piano, and Kit Johnson on tuba, along with Vancouver drummer Ron Leach, Eugene banjo/vocalist Alan Phillips, Corvallis clarinetist Steve Matthes, and Helena, Montana trombonist Don Stone.

28th Annual America's Classic Jazz Festival

We are so thrilled that Charlotte Dickison and crew are back in action with another edition of America's Classic Jazz Festival. This annual event -- the 28th -- will again take place on the Saint Martin’s University Campus – Marcus Pavilion in Lacey, Washington. They always have a stellar lineup of jazz bands & guest artists. Youth of all ages will enjoy dancing and listening throughout the weekend. Black Swan will again feature Portland's Marilyn Keller on vocals, Rick Holzgrafe on cornet, John Bennett on piano, and Kit Johnson on tuba, along with Vancouver drummer Ron Leach, Eugene banjo/vocalist Alan Phillips, Corvallis clarinetist Steve Matthes, and Helena, Montana trombonist Don Stone.

We cannot overstate how fun this festival is every year. Wonderful bands, good venues and people who are there to enjoy each other and the opportunity to listen and dance to great music. We can't wait for the party, with vocalist Marilyn Keller, and instrumentalists Rick Holzgrafe, Ron Leach, Alan Phillips, Steve Matthes, Don Stone, John Bennett and Kit Johnson there to do the honors for Black Swan.
